How To Dig Yourself Out of Rock Bottom

This article right here is going to be as real and authentic as it can get, and talk about one place many of you, including myself have been!!!! No one wants to admit it for fear of shame, guilt, weakness or whatnot, but we are human and all have life’s struggles. I am not one of these coaches who comes on here and preaches that life is always perfect, because its fucking not, but when things get hard or worse, you hit rock bottom, how the fuck do you get back on track and start swinging at life again. So here I am going to give you my personal take on what to do.

The first, and often hardest part of this whole thing, is to admit that you need to change and get back up. This is where many guys and girls, go wrong is that they fail to acknowledge the truth or reality and stay stuck in the trenches. Listen I get it, no one wants to admit they are in a bad spot, or that things need to change. We are creatures of habit, and are used to remaining comfortable and change/acceptance can be very fucking hard. But without saying I NEED TO CHANGE AND I WILL CHANGE nothing will fucking happen. So that is step 1, acknowledge the reality.

Step 2 requires you to write some things down on paper. Writing things on paper puts some effort into the plan, and when you write it, its now no longer just a thought but something tangible you can touch on paper!!!!! It’s more real, and that is what you need to do, MAKE IT FUCKING REAL!!!!! Write 5 things you need to change as well as 5 things you are going to do to change. Other than saying I want to change my life, write 5 exact things you want to change, because doing so will give you specific task to work on that fits the bigger overall picture of CHANGING MY LIFE AND GETTING OUT OF THE HOLE!!!

Step 3 is to look at this list every fucking day 2 times, first thing in the morning and again before bed, EVERY FUCKING DAY. And to take this a step further, I want you to read it out loud. This may seem funny, but when you start hearing these positive words out loud it becomes ingrained in your subconscious and that will make things a lot easier and you’ll notice your mindset shifts.

Step 4 is to do JUST 1 THING EVERY DAY that will bring you closer to just 1 of those 5 goals, and write it down!!!! Do this for each of the 5 goals. For example, if one goal is I want to start getting back in shape, drinking no soda (when you drink it multiple times a day) is 1 step. Then at the end of the night say out loud what you did. Celebrate that win, and that positive feeling will become addicting and you will notice the positive actions start to slowly build. These daily actions do not need to be the same every day. 1 day drinking water, the next not eating out and preparing every meal at home, whatever. The point is these very small steps slowly start to lead to a better YOU and when you slowly start to crave the good feeling, you will notice so much more positive in your life.

Step 5, tell someone what your goals are, and ask them to checkin twice a week asking how the progress is going. Trust me, its much easier to let ourselves down. But, to tell someone you failed, that is pretty fucking hard, and its much easier to stay on track when you know there is a checkin coming up!!!!

Listen I am no expert, but I have been through an awful lot over the years and built a pretty good life. But I have been there, lost a wife and step son, lost a job and been flat ass broke and in debt (all at the same time lol) and I said fuck this I am going to fucking swing back, and that what I did damnit, and you can too!!!
